RemotePlus aims to encourage the marketing of solar technologies and improved cookstoves in the most remote areas. The more remote the area is, the higher the incentive. The classification table of the areas can be found in the factsheet of each Window.
No, agents are free to apply individually or may choose to apply as a consortium.
The upgrade from a small solar system to one with more capacity is eligible exclusively in the productive use window.
Only companies registered in Mozambique are eligible to apply to FASER. The fund is also open to a consortiums between a Mozambican and a foreign companies.
Companies should provide a functional warranty which includes after sales services of their products. Defective products must be replaced within the product’s warranty. During the verification process and impact assessment, customers will be asked about their experience with the company’s warranty system.
All stoves (with or without certification) should be submitted to laboratory testing in the Biomass Energy Certification and Testing Center (BECT) in the UEM to guarantee that all stoves will be tested under the same conditions.
An Agent can apply for more than one window. However, for each Window there is a maximum funding limit that each agent can apply for.
Technologies supported by FASER shall not be double-subsidized and double-reported to different programs or organizations. To avoid any misunderstandings, companies should inform FASER if they have applied or received support from other donors or organizations.
The companies shall submit their improved cookstoves for testing in order to evaluate the performance of the cookstoves. The performance is obtained through standardized testing procedures which can only be performed in a lab. Incentives for stoves are calculated based on the results of the Key Performance Indicators (lab results)
PAYGO or lease-to-own describes business models in which a company sells the product on credit over a predefined time period requesting regular installments with or without additional upfront or final payments until the ownership is fully transferred to the end-customer.
Only ICS customers connected to the grid are eligible, in the energy access and humanitarian window, a system sold to a customer who already has access to the grid or to a solar system is not eligible for the RBF.
